The dishes need doing, the dog needs walking, and you can never find the bottom of that pile of work no matter how many hours you put in — yeah, sometimes we could all use a time out from life.
Busy schedules and stressful days are bound to put a strain on your mental health at times, and there's no real way around that. But there is something that you are in complete control of — how you react to life's inevitable chaos and the ways in which you care for yourself before and during stressful moments.
Today, I wanted to share a list of my favorite mental health quotes — these always come in hand when I need a boost of encouragement, or to put things in perspective. Taking a small step back and looking at the bigger picture always helps remind myself that yes, this too shall pass. I hope some of these quotes resonate with you, and that you come back to this list whenever you need a little pep talk.
Pssst... Here's a few printable planners I thought you might like!
I’ve collected quotes for years — in notebooks, on sticky notes, in the notes app on my phone. They’ve gotten me through rough mornings and long workdays, and sometimes they just remind me to take a breath.
Whenever I catch myself spiraling or overthinking, I scroll through the ones I’ve saved. Because when I'm out and about and come across a line that really hits, I’ll always make sure to jot it down. It's a silly practice but one that has served me well, especially when I expand upon them or turn them into a journal prompt (P.S: I highly recommend trying out some morning journaling if you don't already keep a journal!)
It's probably pretty obvious that I am a big fan of quotes — but I have to admit, sometimes they can feel pretty cliché or cheesy. When you read through a list of "self-help" anything, there are bound to be quotes that make you groan with the biggest eye-roll this side of the Mississippi — but keep going, and I promise at least one or two of these quotes will resonate with you.
The funny thing is that today, quote #19 might strike a chord. And if you come back in a two weeks and re-read this list, it might be #11 that jumps off the page at you as it seems to perfectly sum up the turbulence you currently find yourself trying to manage.
That's why it's always helpful to keep in mind that motivation quotes aren't always going to have a profound impact. But keep the ones that ring true, and write them down in your journal or on a post-it note and stick it on the fridge — it just might be the friendly remind your future self needs to hear.
All of these have spoken to me at different moments throughout myself: both on days when I wake up feeling unstoppable and those when I absolutely need an outside burst of motivation to get my gears spinning.
So without further ado, here are a list of my favorite mental health quotes. Save the ones that speak to you — and come back to them whenever you need a reminder that you’ve gotten through hard days before 💛
Before I sign off, I wanted to share one last tool that has helped me immensely when it comes to managing my mindset and keeping my bigger picture in view — my 2026 vision board template.
I created this last year to help set my goals for the year, and after deciding to share it with a few friends (that blank copy that is — my filled in copy is totally private and for my eyes only), they all wanted a copy. We ended up having a vision board party the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve, and over some yummy snacks and a tasty bottle of wine, we set our goals and intentions for the year ahead, while also envisioning what our lives would look like if all of our wildest dreams come true.
Anyway, just an idea that I wanted to recommend! I have a feeling that 2026 Vision Board parties just might be the start of a new annual trend.
